Vernon D. Casterline, MD
Dr. Casterline is a Board Certified Dermatologist. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology (aad.org). He is a member of the Wisconsin Dermatological Society. Dr. Casterline received his MD degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He completed his Dermatology residency at The Medical College of Wisconsin. He has been practicing in Milwaukee since 1986. His areas of interest/expertise include surgical and non-surgical skin cancer treatment, general medical and surgical dermatology including psoriasis treatment options as well as Mohs surgery for skin cancer.
James E. Ethington, MD
Dr. Ethington is a Board Certified Dermatologist. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology (aad.org) as well as a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery (mohssurgery.org). He is also an active member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, The Wisconsin Dermatological Society, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Ethington received his MD degree from Loyola Medical School in Maywood, Illinois. He completed his Dermatology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Ethington has been practicing since 1981. His areas of interest/expertise include Mohs Surgery for skin cancer, surgical and non-surgical skin cancer treatment, laser surgery and general dermatology.
Monica Rani, MD
Dr. Rani is a Board Certified Dermatologist and practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Rani completed her residency training in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology at the University of Minnesota where she was Chief Resident. She then joined Northwestern University in 2012 as a full time faculty member teaching residents and medical students and consulting at the hospital. In her private practice she continues to believe in educating her patients on their skin conditions. Her goal is for every patient to have a good understanding of their diagnosis, feel confident about the treatment plan and their ability to manage the condition.
Dr. Rani is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of Women's Dermatological Society, Medical Dermatological Society and the Chicago Dermatologic Society. Dr. Rani is a frequent speaker at national and international professional meetings, and developed a global health program in dermatology and created a combined dermatologic-infectious disease clinic to provide integrated patient care at Northwestern University. She joined Layton Dermatology in 2018 and loves serving the Milwaukee area.
Melissa McGuire, APNP
Melissa is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. She is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and has years of Wound Care and Dermatology experience. She obtained her nursing degree from Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She obtained her Masters of Science degree by completing the Family Practice Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Minnesota. She enjoys being a preceptor for new NP’s and nursing students. She sees any age patient with any dermatological concern. She also performs Cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, micro-needling, laser hair removal and laser treatment for Rosacea.
Tracy Nelson, FNP-BC, APNP
Tracy is a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. She has many years of dermatology experience. She obtained her nursing degree from UW-Milwaukee and her Masters of Science degree from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, Nurse Practitioner Society and The National Psoriasis Foundation. Tracy sees patients of all ages and any type of dermatological issue. She has a special interest in psoriasis and has Light Therapy available at the Layton Avenue location.
